Privacy notice for people asking for a moving quote

This notice explains, in plain words, what happens to the details you give us when you ask for a moving quote on moveleads.cloud. Effective November 6, 2026.

Are you a moving company? See our Privacy Policy.

What we collect

When you ask for a moving quote, you give us:

  • your first name, mobile number and, if you add it, your email address;
  • the ZIP codes you are moving from and to (we look up the city and state from them);
  • your move date or rough timing, your home type and size, stairs, heavy items, and any notes you type.

We also record, automatically:

  • the time you sent the request;
  • your IP address and your browser and device type;
  • the page you sent it from, the page you first arrived on, and the site that sent you to us (for example a search engine), with any campaign tags in the link.

If you do not give an email address, we store a stand-in address made from your phone number, so our systems have something in that field.

Cookies, Google and Meta

Our website uses Google Analytics on every page to count visits and see how people use the site. Google sets cookies to do this.

Our quote form uses the Meta Pixel (Meta runs Facebook and Instagram) to measure whether our ads work. It sets Meta cookies, and we save two Meta cookie values (named _fbp and _fbc) with your request.

When this is switched on, our server also tells Meta that a quote request happened. It sends your email address, phone number and name in scrambled (hashed) form, plus your IP address and browser type. Meta uses this to match the request to its users and measure ads.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The form still works without them.

Who gets your request

We send your request to one moving company that serves your route. The moving company pays us for it. Only that company gets your name and contact details.

Before a company takes your request, other moving companies on MoveLeads may see the move itself (the cities, ZIP codes, date and home size) without your name, phone number or email address.

The moving company gets your name, phone number, email address, the cities and ZIP codes, the move date and the home size. It may call, text or email you about your move.

The moving company may put your details into its own customer system (a CRM such as Granot). From then on, that company also holds your details, and its own privacy policy applies to its copy.

If the moving company marks your move as done, we may email you on its behalf to ask for a review.

Companies that run our service for us also handle your details: MongoDB Atlas (our database), Render (our servers), Cloudflare (our website), Resend (email), Twilio (text messages) and Granot (when the moving company uses it). To show your city, your browser sends the ZIP codes you type to Zippopotam.us. Google and Meta get what is described above.

We may share details if the law requires it, or to protect people from fraud or harm.

How long we keep it

We keep your request and its details until you ask us to delete them. Today we do not delete requests automatically after a set time.

Some records of phone checks and text messages are deleted automatically after 90 days.

If you ask us to stop contacting you, we keep your phone number or email address on our "do not contact" list, so that we can keep honouring your request.

Stop calls and texts

The first text you may get after asking for a quote comes from MoveLeads' own phone number, sent on behalf of the moving company that took your request. If you reply STOP to that text, the reply reaches us: we add your number to our "do not contact" list and tell that moving company.

If a moving company then calls or texts you from its own number, a STOP reply to it reaches that company, not us. You can also ask the company directly to stop.

You can also send us the form below, or email us. We add your number or email address to our "do not contact" list, and we tell the moving company that received your request.

Get a copy, or delete your details

Use the form below, or email us, to ask for a copy of the details we hold about you, or to ask us to delete them. Tell us the phone number or email address you used.

When we delete your details, we remove your name, phone number, email address, notes, IP address, browser details and cookie values from our records. We keep a record that a request existed and what the moving company paid for it, because our accounts depend on it.

We cannot delete the copy a moving company already has in its own systems. Ask that company directly. If you want, we can tell it you asked.

Security

Our website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Inside MoveLeads, only staff with an admin account can see your details.
